– Paulie Bleeker is that shy, quiet character, but he is morally conscience. He is on the track team, that is seen running throughout the entire movie, and they run in a large pack as they practice. I ran cross country and track myself, and I understand that the two are what I like to refer to as a teamed individual sport. This means that everyone represents your school; you practice together, but during a race the runners are running for themselves. It suddenly becomes less about the team and focuses on individuals. This is a connection to Bleaker himself. He is on the team and has a state of belonging and is societal accepted, but when he races he is alone meaning its not a complete acceptance into society; he is still an outcast kind of character like Juno.
